Dear 4th Grade Families:
As per the message we sent out through Class Dojo on March 18th, this week, March 30-April 3, your student will be working on the packet of materials provided in the baggie you will be picking up on Monday or Tuesday. As of this week, we will not be meeting “live” with our entire classes, although we do want students getting familiar with using their gmail accounts and Google Classrooms. In order to take daily attendance, we will post a daily question in our Homeroom Google Classrooms that students will need to respond to in order to be considered “in attendance.” They don’t have to respond at any particular time, as long as it is on that calendar date.
Learning expectations are that your child is spending 20 minutes per day on each of the core subject areas: math, reading, writing, social studies and science. This does NOT mean that they will be online that entire time. They may have to read the directions posted in Google Classroom, view a video lesson, then sit down to do paper and pencil work. We will be encouraging movement activities and ways to socialize with peers.
I will be putting together a suggested daily calendar if you and your child need more structure for their learning day. Please reach out to me via Class Dojo or by email. I am here for you and your child.
